Correction and Retraction

The Journal of SAKAGURU: Journal of Pedagogy and Creative Teacher is committed to maintaining the integrity and completeness of the scholarly record. We take our responsibility to ensure the accuracy of published content very seriously. Changes to articles after they have been published online are made in accordance with the following guidelines, which align with best practices in the academic publishing community.

  1. Erratum

An Erratum is issued when there are errors or omissions in an article that need correction. This includes typographical mistakes, factual errors, or other minor issues that do not affect the study's conclusions but need to be addressed to maintain the accuracy of the published work.

  • Issuance: Errata are issued by the original authors or the Editor when necessary.
  • Content: The Erratum will briefly explain the nature of the correction and any impact on the conclusions of the paper.
  • Access: Errata are freely available to all readers and are linked to the corrected article. The original article is not removed from the online journal.
  1. Retraction

A Retraction is issued when a paper should no longer be considered part of the scientific literature due to significant issues such as unreliable findings, plagiarism, unethical research practices, or prior publication without proper reference.

  • Issuance: Retractions can be issued by the authors, the Editor, or the Publisher when substantial scientific errors or misconduct are identified.
  • Content: The retraction notice will state the reason for the retraction, the responsible parties, and whether the retraction was made with or without the unanimous agreement of the authors. In extreme cases involving legal violations, the Publisher may edit or remove the article.
  • Access: Retractions are freely available to all readers and are linked to the retracted article. The retracted article remains online, but the retraction notice ensures the integrity of the scientific record.
  1. Publisher's Note

A Publisher's Note is issued for cases where typographical or production errors, which are the responsibility of the Publisher, affect the integrity of the article's metadata (e.g., title, author list, byline) or significantly impact the reader’s understanding of the article.

  • Issuance: Issued by the Publisher when such errors are identified.
  • Content: The Publisher's Note informs readers about the corrections made and replaces the original article if necessary.
  • Access: Publisher's Notes are freely available to all readers. Minor errors that do not affect the article’s integrity or scientific content will be corrected at the Publisher’s discretion.
  1. Correction Timeline
  • Within One Year: Articles can be removed and replaced with corrected versions within one year of the original publication date. The date of correction will be recorded on the corrected article.

Beyond One Year: Corrections to articles published more than one year ago will be documented solely through a Publisher’s Note.
