Aims and Scope
Aims and Scope
Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and Future Research (BAFR) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes rigorous scholarship on artificial intelligence, blockchain technologies, intelligent information systems, human-centered computing, and digital trust.
Aims
BAFR aims to advance theoretical, methodological, computational, empirical, and applied knowledge concerning the design, development, evaluation, implementation, interaction, governance, and responsible use of intelligent and decentralized digital technologies.
The journal particularly encourages research that connects technological innovation with human interaction, decision-making, intelligent information systems, organizational transformation, trustworthy digital infrastructures, and the evolving social and economic dimensions of digital technologies.
Scope
AI, Blockchain, and Emerging Intelligent Technologies
BAFR welcomes interdisciplinary research exploring the convergence of artificial intelligence, blockchain, decentralized infrastructures, intelligent information systems, and other emerging technologies, particularly where their integration produces meaningful technological, methodological, organizational, or societal contributions.
Application Areas
BAFR welcomes methodologically rigorous research across different application environments, provided that the contribution to the journal's technological and scholarly scope remains explicit and substantive.
Types of Contributions
The journal welcomes original and methodologically rigorous contributions employing computational, experimental, quantitative, qualitative, mixed-method, design-oriented, and interdisciplinary approaches.
- Original empirical research
- Experimental and computational studies
- Development and evaluation of intelligent or decentralized systems
- Human-computer interaction and human–AI interaction studies
- Technical and methodological contributions
- Data-driven evaluation and benchmarking studies
- Systematic reviews and evidence-based research syntheses
- Design science and system-development research
- Theoretical and conceptual studies with substantial scholarly contribution
- Rigorous interdisciplinary and case-based research
Technology Must Be Central to the Scholarly Contribution
Manuscripts should demonstrate a clear and substantive contribution to artificial intelligence, human-centered computing, intelligent information systems, blockchain or decentralized technologies, digital trust, or the interaction and governance of these technologies. Studies situated in a particular application area are encouraged when the technological, theoretical, methodological, or system-level contribution is central rather than incidental.
