INAUGURAL ISSUE

Publication of Volume 1, Number 1

Language, Technology, and Social Media commenced scholarly publication with Volume 1, Number 1 in June 2023. The journal was established as an online, peer-reviewed, and open-access scholarly publication managed by WISE Pendidikan Indonesia.

Transition to Four Issues per Year

Beginning in 2026, the journal increased its publication frequency from two to four regular issues annually. The journal’s quarterly issues are designated January–March, April–June, July–September, and October–December, with the completed issues identified bibliographically as the March, June, September, and December issues.

VOLUME 4, NUMBER 3

Transition from Articles in Press to Continuous Publication

Volume 4, Number 3 (2026) marked the journal’s formal transition from its former Articles in Press publication model to article-based continuous publication directly within active regular issues.

Before this transition, accepted and production-ready articles could be made publicly available through the Articles in Press section before receiving their final volume, issue number, and page range. Articles that had already entered this workflow were subsequently assigned complete bibliographic information when Volume 4, Number 3 was formally published.

Following completion of the transition, newly published articles are no longer placed in separate Articles in Press, Online First, Early View, or Forthcoming sections. Each new article is published directly within an active issue as the Version of Record after peer review, editorial decision, revision, copyediting, typesetting, proofreading, and metadata verification have been completed.

At the time of direct issue publication, each article is assigned its final volume, issue number, actual online publication date, page range or article number, DOI, and complete citation information.

PUBLICATION RECORD

Historical Articles in Press and Transitional Records

Before the publication of Volume 4, Number 3 (2026), the journal used an Articles in Press publication model. Under this model, selected accepted and production-ready articles were published online before being assigned to a final volume, issue, and page range.

Volume 4, Number 3 served as the transitional issue. Articles that had already been published through the former Articles in Press workflow were assigned their final volume, issue number, page range or article number, and complete bibliographic information when the issue was formally published.

Consequently, some articles assigned to Volume 4, Number 3 may display a first-online publication date that precedes the formal publication date or designated period of the issue. The first-online date documents the article’s original publication through the former Articles in Press workflow, whereas the issue-publication date documents its subsequent final bibliographic assignment.

For example, the article “Designing ZPD-Based Writing Worksheets With Corrective Feedback: An Integrative Review for EFL Academic Writing” was first published online on 21 June 2026 under the former Articles in Press model and was subsequently assigned to Volume 4, Number 3, pages 399–417, when the issue was formally published on 15 July 2026.

The article’s original first-online publication date and DOI were retained to preserve the continuity, citability, and traceability of the scholarly record. The addition of the final volume, issue, and page information represents a publication-stage and bibliographic metadata update and does not, by itself, indicate a correction to the article’s scholarly content.

Where available, readers may use the Crossmark button displayed on the article landing page or PDF to verify the article’s current status and review registered publication-history information or post-publication updates.

CURRENT MODEL

Current Continuous-Publication Practice

After the transitional records associated with Volume 4, Number 3 were finalized, the journal ceased publishing new articles through a separate Articles in Press workflow. Newly accepted articles are now published directly within the active quarterly issue after all editorial and production requirements have been completed.

Each article is released as the Version of Record with complete and stable bibliographic information. Articles that are not ready for final issue publication remain within the journal’s editorial and production workflow and are not presented as published journal content.
